Designing with the Mediterranean light
Why every Palmayya residence faces the water, and how arched doorways, deep terraces and sand-toned stone keep homes cool and calm.
The North Coast light is soft in the morning and golden at dusk. Our architects planned every cluster so that living spaces open to the west, towards the lagoon and the sunset.
Arched doorways, a motif borrowed from Mediterranean villages, frame the view and shade the entrances. Terraces are at least three metres deep so that they work as outdoor rooms rather than balconies.
Materials are chosen for touch and temperature: sand-toned limestone, teak shutters and brushed brass that ages with the house.
